They say it takes a village to raise a child. Similarly, Geelong Lutheran College relies on the cooperation and support from each child’s family to be able to provide the best education for a child to help equip them for a fulfilling adult life. Our staff care about all members of our community and commit to respectful and open communication at all times.
We ask that parents uphold this also in their communications with staff, students and other families. We have a Parent Code of Conduct in place which outlines our general expectations for all Parents / Guardians / Caregivers who are part of our College community.
We are proud of our College uniform as it presents a positive image of Geelong Lutheran College and our students.
Students in Years 3-12 wear our Summer Uniform in Terms 1 & 4, and Winter Uniform in Terms 2 & 3. Junior Primary students in Prep – Year 2 wear our Sport Uniform all year, to enable them to be independent and participate and engage fully in motor opportunities. Our Sport Uniform includes a House Polo that comes in four different colours, representing the four Houses at each campus.
Geelong Lutheran College uniforms can be purchased from our supplies, Noone Uniforms. This can be done in person at their Moorabool Street shop in central Geelong or online.
Geelong Lutheran College values and relies on the active involvement of Parents / Guardians / Caregivers in its programs. Help is often sought for assisting in the classroom, sporting programs, excursions and learning assistance programs.
Parents can support their children and the staff in many ways and are urged to consider in what capacity they may best contribute to their children’s education. A range of formal and informal opportunities exists for parents at a level of commitment of their own choice.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer in various ways, including:
Sporting events and programs
Classroom helpers
The Learning Assistance Program
Excursions and Camps, etc.
Guest speakers sharing their work experience or particular skills
Library support
All volunteers over the age of 18 are required to have the following before taking part in College-related activities involving students:
Working with Children Card
“Valuing Safe Communities” training (provided through the College)
Child Protection Training (provided online by the College)
Parents, guardians and caregivers can also get involved with our active P&F Committees at each campus. For more information, please click on the link below:
